The Bruce Museum

The Bruce museum in Greenwich that I visited didn't allow pictures to be taken. So this picture that I display was the only area to take pictures, which was the front entry way.

This is Robby the Robot. I remember seeing him in a quick shot in the movie Gremlins. He definitely scared me when I was little, but I'm ok now! lol He first appeared in the 1956 film Forbidden Planet. He was also seen in 25 other films and movies. I was surprised to know that the original Robby was created to hold a real actor inside! It took more than 2 months to install the 2,600 feet of electrical wiring that was used to control his flashing, spinning and moving parts. This is a replicate and was made by hand using the original molds and blue prints.

This museum was much different from any of the other museums I visited. It seemed more like a child's museum. There were geos and different types of rock and land formations. They also displayed wildlife and other such earthy things. Moving to the other rooms, they were filled with robots that are visiting for now.

They had a lot of interesting things but I didn't see any of the traditional art work.

My visit to the Museum was one of amazement! I decided to use this visit as my last photo album. The building was a little intimidating at first, even looking at the map, but we conquered it!
I apologize for the late postings.
